NBA Parlay – New Jersey Nets vs. Boston Celtics

April 8, 2009

Streaking Boston Hosts Dangerous Nets At Home

The NJ Nets are “dangerous” in the same sense that a kitten is dangerous. They’re nauseatingly cute and cuddly, but those claws could gauge your eyes out. In that same vein, they’re as cute as a drunk chick with a hidden mace gun. You can’t take them seriously but you certainly can’t count them out.

New Jersey’s 9667 victory over the Sixers is proof of how dominant they can be when momentum is on their side. But they’ve been piss poor against the Boston Celtics as of late and a 26 ATS road record certainly isn’t encouraging. But the Celtics are a different team without Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo has a tweaked ankle that will make Devin Harris difficult to stop.

NBA Betting Trends:

  • New Jersey is 24 ATS in its last 6 games
  • New Jersey is 26 SU in its last 8 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of New Jersey’s last 10 games
  • New Jersey is 26 ATS in its last 8 games on the road
  • Boston is 41 ATS in its last 5 games
  • Boston is 81 SU in its last 9 games
  • Boston is 310 ATS in its last 13 games at home
  • The total has gone UNDER in 15 of Boston’s last 21 games when playing at home against New Jersey

I’m going out on a limb here and saying that this is one game that New Jersey shows up for. Vince Carter is still an explosive nightmare for most teams, and Boston doesn’t have a defensive artist other than Pierce good enough to slow down VC. He’ll get rolling as soon as Harris starts blowing up Rondo so bet the Nets to make this a tight one.

New Jersey Nets (32-45) vs. Boston Celtics (58-19)
Wednesday, April 8th TD Banknorth Garden, Boston 7:30pm EST
NBA Betting Line: Boston 10.5 (194)

I’ve gone with the UNDER in almost all of Boston’s home games, and I’m not about to stop, especially with New JerseyBoston pushing the UNDER in 15 of 21 when playing at Boston. Follow the trends in the TOTAL and go against the grain when it comes to the betting spread.

NBA Free Pick: New Jersey +10.5 (UNDER)
