NBA Parlay – Nets vs. Bucks and Pistons vs. Mavericks

New Jersey Looks For Win #4 Against Milwaukee and Detroit Battles Dallas

The woeful New Jersey Nets take to the court again in hopes of securing their 4th victory of the year.  The Nets are 1 ½ point underdogs against a Milwaukee team that has lost 6 out of its last 8 games.

If the Nets were to win a game this week, it would probably be against the horrible Milwaukee Bucks.  That’s a big “if”.

In the nights other great NBA betting game, the Detroit Pistons travel down to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. The Pistons have lost 9 straight games straight-up and against the spread and face one of the better teams in the NBA in Dallas.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. New Jersey Nets

Tip-off:  7:30 pm EST

NBA Odds:  Milwaukee -1 ½, Total 191

Analysis:  As bad as Milwaukee has been lately, they are still only three games below .500 and have a terrific backcourt in Michael Redd and rookie Brandon Jennings.

Jennings leads the Bucks in scoring with over 19 points per game.  He also leads Milwaukee in assists with 6 per game.  With Redd also providing great scoring, the Bucks have the weapons in the backcourt to surprise some teams.

Redd put up 27 against the Oklahoma City Thunder in his last game.  He could do something like that in this game.  The most important trend regarding Milwaukee is that they are 11 and 4 ATS in their next 15 games after a straight-up victory.

Putting together 2 in a row seems doable as the Nets are just an awful, awful team.  I see Redd and Jennings being too much for New Jersey in this game.

Pick:  Milwaukee Bucks at -1 ½

Detroit Pistons vs. Dallas Mavericks

Tip-off:  8:30 pm EST

NBA Odds:  Dallas -8 ½, Total 187 ½

Analysis:  The Pistons’ 9 game losing streak, something that the citizens of Detroit just aren’t used to, is odd considering that Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton and Ben Wallace still play for this team.  Charles Villanueva, a decent forward, comes off of the bench.

Oh yes, Rodney Stuckey, their top scorer, has been hurt as well although he should be able to play in this game.  The Pistons could definitely use his 19 points per game.

Forget trends involving either team ATS as the best trend concerning the Mavericks is that they are 4 and 1 ATS in their last 5 games after an ATS loss.  That trend isn’t all that favorable to me because Dallas is also 1 and 10 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite at home.

There are also conflicting trends regarding the total in this game. What does that leave us with?  Back to Rodney Stuckey.  If Stuckey can provide the scoring that Detroit so desperately needs, then the Pistons should be able to keep this one close.  Well, closer than 8 ½ points.

Could the Pistons lose a 10th game in a row both straight-up and ATS?  Absolutely, but my money will be on Detroit to end that horrible streak.

Pick:  Detroit Pistons at +8 ½
