NBA Lock Alert – Spurs at Nets

February 10, 2009

Harris, Nets, Host Incendiary Spurs and ‘Big Three’

The San Antonio Spurs (34-15 SU, 24-23-2 ATS, 23-25-1 O/U) defeated the Boston Celtics 105-99 on Sunday to cover the spread as a 6.5-point road while the combined score went OVER the posted over/under total of 186 points.

All-star power forward Tim Duncan scored 23 points to go along with 13 rebounds for San Antonio while center Matt Bonner also scored a team-high 23 points in the win.

The New Jersey Nets (24-28 SU, 28-24 ATS, 24-28 O/U) lost to the Orlando Magic 101-84 on Sunday, failing to cover the spread in the BetOnline Sportsbook as a 13-point road underdog while the combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total of 195.5 points.

Lightning-quick point guard Devin Harris led the New Jersey with 28 points and 12 assists while blossoming rookie center Brook Lopez delivered 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

Analysis:

Okay NBA betting members, this pick is as simple as pie if you ask me. The San Antonio Spurs are one of the league’s elite teams – and the only team with a chance of beating the Lakers in the Western Conference – and will lay an emphatic spanking on the Nets tonight despite the fact that I have been impressed with the nets’ overachieving play all season.

The Spurs play the same cerebral type of game every time out no matter where they play and will use its overwhelming defense to make the Nets submit.

I also like the Over for this matchup with the Spurs topping the 100-point mark in five of its last six games.

NBA Free Picks: Spurs -5 Points/Over 187½ Total Points
