NBA Lock Alert – Nash and the Suns Look like a Lock Against Heat
March 5, 2009
After going 4-0 on my Tuesday night NBA selections, to move to a near-perfect 6-1 over the last two days, your handicapping homeboy Eric ‘E Dubya’ Williams is back at it again with what should once again prove to be another bankroll-boosting NBA sports betting selection in the BetOnline Locker Room.
The Phoenix Suns (34-26 SU, 23-34 ATS, 34-25 O/U) had their modest two-game winning streak emphatically snapped in its 111-99 loss to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, failing to cover the spread as 7-point road underdogs just as I predicted in the BetOnline Sportsbook on Tuesday.
Phoenix got 27 points from swingman Jason Richardson and 20 points from point guard Steve Nash, but were outscored 30-12 at the free throw line while the game played Under the whopping 233.5-point O/U total.
The Miami Heat (31-28 SU, 26-31-2 ATS, 32-26-1 O/U) have dropped three straight against the spread and have alternated SU wins and losses in each of their last 11 games.
The Heat lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-100 on Monday, failing to cover the spread as 3.5-point home underdogs while the combined score played Over the 186-point O/U total.
Superstar shooting guard Dwyane Wade scored a team-high 41 points in a losing effort.
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Pick.
- Phoenix is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games when playing Miami
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Phoenix’s last 7 games when playing on the road against Miami
- Phoenix is 6-3 SU in its last 9 games
- Phoenix is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Miami
- Miami is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games when playing at home against Phoenix
- The total has gone OVER in 4 of Miami’s last 5 games
- The total has gone OVER in 4 of Miami’s last 5 games at home
- Miami is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Phoenix
NBA Odds:
- Phoenix Suns +4 -110
- Miami Heat -4 -110
- Over 227 -110
- Under 227 -110
Analysis: I won’t waste my beloved NBA sports bettors’ time with this selection, I’ll just get right to the point by saying that no way do the Suns fail to cover this spread, getting four points on the road and clearly being the more talented and better overall team.
Take Steve Nash, Shaq Diesel and Co. to cover the spread, likely with the outright win!
NBA Free Picks: Suns +4 Points/Under 227 Total Points
