NBA Lock Alert – Celtics at Clippers

February 25, 2009

The Boston Celtics (46-12 SU, 33-25 ATS, 26-31 O/U) don’t have superstar forward Kevin Garnett in the lineup due to a knee injury, but have looked as good as ever in winning – and covering the spread – in each of their last two games.

The Celtics are on the road tonight, facing the lowly Los Angeles Clippers (14-43 SU, 23-34 ATS, 34-22-1 O/U) who snapped a three-game losing streak the last time out.

Veteran shooting guard Ray Allen scored a team-high 26 points and grabbed six rebounds for Boston as they absolutely lit up the struggling Denver Nuggets 114-76 on Monday night.

Boston easily cashed in for BetOnline NBA sports betting backers as 2-point road favorites, their fourth ATS win in five games, while the game played under the 198-point O/U total.

Head case forward Zach Randolph returned from a two-game suspension to score a team-high 27 points and to help the Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors 118-105 on Monday night while explosive rookie shooting guard Eric Gordon also added 27 points while draining 6 of 7 from downtown.

The Clippers cashed in as 4-point home underdogs while the game played under the 229-point over/under total.

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.

NBA Odds

Boston Celtics -8 -110

Los Angeles Clippers +8 -110

Over 200 -110

Under 200 -110

Analysis: I have absolutely no idea why the Boston Celtics are only favored to win this contest by eight points, particularly seeing as how well they’ve played the last two games in beating Phoenix and Denver.

To be totally honest about it, the Celtics should have this game firmly in hand by the time halftime rolls around while winning by double digits to cover the spread with room to spare.

NBA Free Picks: Celtics -8 Points/Over 200 Total Points
