NBA Friday Night – 4 Game Parlay

March 20, 2009

INDINA PACERS -1 over Dallas Mavericks

I repeat: I hate the Mavericks on the road! Why? My Dad can barely travel. He’s 62 years-old, obscenely cranky for a guy that doesn’t work and he has to go to the bathroom every fifteen minutes. Plus he’s needy and demanding .Frankly, I don’t know how my poor mother puts up with it.

I’m not saying Jason Kidd has a potential prostate issue, has the tired legs my father does, or the neediness of an aging Dad. He’s got spring in his legs, and gas in the tank. But he just doesn’t travel well. How else do you explain Dallas going 2-8 SU in their last 10 on the road? On top of that, the Mavericks are coming off a loss in Atlanta last night and Indiana has had two days of rest. Indiana may be on a five game losing skid, but Granger will be unleashed in this game after coming back from injury so bet on the side of caution and choose the Pacers on the line.

TORONTO RAPTORS -1.5 over Charlotte Bobcats

The Bobcats will be without Gerald Wallace, who has a bit of a knee injury to focus on before he gets going again. Granted I’m throwing caution to the wind and siding with the 1-8 ATS Raptors, who have never played well against Charlotte. On top of that Charlotte is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games, and a strong 4-2 ATS in their last 6 on the road. What I like about this game for Toronto is the revenge factor. They were crushed 112-86 by the Bobcats, and if you know the Raptors, they rarely lose in back-to-back games like that against the same team.

NEW JERSEY NETS -1.5 over Miami Heat

Without Wade, this is a no brainer. With Wade, it’s a different story. Most books are sitting on their hands right now waiting to see if Wade plays. The Nets are a strong 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 at home, and this will be a Vince Carter show if Wade isn’t in the game. But if Wade plays, well how do you spell “blowout” again?

NEW YORK KNICKS -9 over Sacramento Kings

Don’t bet on a sub .500 team without a win in their last five games. That’s the Kings, buddy. The Knicks are at eam that you have to keep your eye on, and they’re hot right now with a 4-1 ATS record in hand. They may be only 1-5 ATS at home, but the last time they played Sacramento, they went on the road and squashed them 114-90. Seven seconds are less is working for Larry Hughes and the Knicks. It’s something worth betting as Sacramento strays too far from home.
