NBA Finals Prop Bets – Lakers vs Celtics
June 9, 2010
As we get set for a pivotal Game 4 of the NBA Finals, not all NBA basketball bettors are concerned with just the point spread and money line in this game.
Instead, some of the best wagers on the board are actually some NBA Finals Prop Bets. Let’s take a look at a few for tonight’s action:
Kobe Bryant- Over 29 ½ Points (-125) or Under 29 ½ Points (-105): He’s the “Black Mamba,” and the most important man in these NBA Finals. But after struggling in Game 3, which Kobe Bryant will we see on Thursday?
While the final stat line for Bryant didn’t look all that bad: 29 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Bryant in Game 3, any bettor who watched the action on the court knows that Bryant wasn’t himself. He shot just 10 for 29 from the field, and made just 1 of 7 3-point attempts.
However, expect Bryant to have a nice bounce back in Game 4. Remember, as “bad,” as Bryant was the other night, he still scored 29 points. And with this being such a crucial game (A Lakers victory means that they could close out the title in Boston on Sunday), expect Bryant to have his best performance of this series.
It’s going to be a BIG night for Kobe Bryant. Expect this NBA Finals Prop Bet to go way OVER.
Paul Pierce- Over 20 ½ Points (-130) or Under 20 ½ Points (EV): While every other big star on the Boston roster has had a game to remember in these Finals (Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen in Game 2, Kevin Garnett in Game 3), Pierce has been auspiciously absent.
He’s averaged just 16 points a game in this series and is shooting just 36 percent from the field against Ron Artest’s smothering defense.
Don’t expect much to change Thursday night.
As good as Pierce is, his matchup against Artest is just an awful one for the Celtic forward, as Artest has quietly emerged as maybe the top perimeter defender in the NBA, giving every opposing small forward he’s faced in these playoffs a fit.
Whether Boston wins or not on Thursday, it won’t be because of Pierce unfortunately. Expect his point total to go UNDER 20 ½ on Thursday night.
Andrew Bynum- Over 10 Points (-130) or Under 10 Points (EV): Of every player on this Lakers roster, it has been Bynum who has had the most surprisingly good series so far.
The big center who was limited to just 18 minutes a game against Phoenix, has played 30 a night against Boston, and has responded with 13 points, seven rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game in this series.
However, a bad knee that has plagued Bynum all postseason long has flared up again, and it looks as though he may be limited in Game 4.
Lakers coach Phil Jackson could very well decide that limiting Bynum’s minutes in Game 4 to keep him fresher for the rest of this series is the smart thing to do Thursday, meaning Bynum might not see much action tonight.
Savvy NBA Finals Bettors will take the UNDER in this Prop bet.
