NBA Finals Betting – Can Lakers Prevent Boston Celebration in Game Six?
June 15, 2010
There’s no worse feeling than losing a championship-clinching game in basketball, except of course if it happens on your home floor, that is.
The NBA betting favorite LA Lakers will try to prevent the NBA betting underdog Celtics from doing just that today in LA as Game Six gets underway tonight.
The NBA Finals betting odds again favor the Lakers, especially because of what should be a rabid home crowd, but the Celtics have the more balanced attack right now despite being the underdog in the NBA betting odds.
Can Kobe Bryant get more support this time around and can the Lakers take this series to a final game for all the marbles?
Boston Celtics (15-7 playoff record) at LA Lakers (14-7)
9:05 pm ET, Staples Center, ABC on TV
NBA Finals betting line: LA Lakers favored by 6 ½
As fans found out in Game Five, Kobe Bryant’s personal success is not necessarily always a good thing for the Lakers’ team success.
At one point, Kobe Bryant scored 19 straight points for his Lakers but LA still wound up losing and not staying close for most of the game.
Every time it looked like Bryant was going to pull his team close to the C’s, Boston rallied behind its balanced roster and the play of Paul Pierce, one of the most underrated star forwards the game has seen in the past 30 years or so.
Pierce has proven he is almost as clutch as Bryant and that gives the Celtics a go-to guy late in what could be another close game.
LA is only 5-5 in their last ten playoff games and the Celtics are 6-4 on the road SU in playoff games this year, meaning that Boston has a good chance going by some of the betting trends to win this game.
That means that if Boston can weather the early storm by the Lakers in front of the Staples Center crowd, they should have a good chance to cover the spread and keep this game close.
There are a lot of questions that need to be answered for LA to win this game convincingly surrounding guys like Ron Artest and Pau Gasol among others as only Derek Fisher has backed up Bryant consistently in this series for much of the time.
NBA betting fans should go with the more balanced team in Boston for now as they are solid underdogs according to the NBA Finals betting line and the NBA Finals betting favorite Lakers haven’t played well lately.
NBA Finals betting pick: Boston Celtics (+6 ½).
