NBA Eastern Conference – 76’ers Remain Hot as Team to Back in NBA Sportsbook
February 16, 2011
The Philadelphia 76’ers have remained hot as the team to back versus the online NBA against the spread odds in the sportsbook from the Eastern Conference. Philly is now #2 overall when it comes to teams that have successfully covered wagering spreads in the NBA this season.
Behind Philly in the Top 5 are the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls. The Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers continue to rest in the Bottom 5.

Let’s get to the NBA Eastern Conference Top 5 and Bottom 5!
NBA Eastern Conference Top 5
- Philadelphia 76’ers 26-28 (34-19-1 ATS) – - The 76’ers are 3 and 1 against the basketball betting spread in their last 4 games including upsetting the San Antonio Spurs 77 to 71 straight up on Feb. 11th. It’s time to start considering the 76’ers as a serious potential playoff team.
- New York Knicks 27-26 (32-19-2 ATS) – - Although they’re only 3 and 3 ATS in their last 6 games, New York could be looking at a nice cover run in the sports book. Why? They take on Atlanta, Milwaukee and Cleveland in their next 3 games. NYK should cover in all 3.
- Chicago Bulls 36-16 (30-20-2 ATS) – - A 6 and 2 against the spread record in their last 8 games including covering spreads versus LAC, Utah and New Orleans in 3 out of their last 5 road games means that the Bulls are still one of the better teams to back in the online sportsbook.
- Detroit Pistons 20-36 (30-26 ATS) – - The Pistons have only gone 1 and 4 ATS in their last 5 games. They do take on Indiana twice and Houston in their next 3 games. So, maybe, the Pistons can turn this against the spread losing streak around.
- Charlotte Bobcats 24-31 (28-25-2 ATS) – - The Bobcats punctuated their 4th cover versus the online NBA odds in their last 5 games by beating the L.A. Lakers 109 to 89 straight up as a +5 point home dog on Feb. 14th.
NBA Eastern Conference Bottom 5
- Washington Wizards 15-38 (20-33 ATS) – - At least they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 115 to 100 on Feb. 13th as 2 point road dogs, but an 8 and 18 overall ATS record on the road this season means that the Wiz are an awesome squad to bet against on most nights.
- Cleveland Cavaliers 9-46 (20-33-2 ATS) – - Their 2 ties, versus the Wizards no ties, is the reason that the Cavs are the second worst team versus the odds in the sportsbook from the Eastern Conference. They’ve gone 1 and 2 ATS in their last 3 games after going 3-0-1 ATS in their previous 4 contests.
- Toronto Raptors 15-40 (23-30-2 ATS) – - The horrible Dinosaurs are 2 and 8 ATS in the basketball sportsbook in their last 10 games. That’s not a good thing at all. Games versus Miami, Charlotte, Chicago, Phoenix and Dallas should continue the Raptors’ woes.
- Orlando Magic 35-21 (25-30-1 ATS) – - The good news is that they’re 3 and 1 against the spread in their last 3 games and have beaten Philadelphia and the L.A. Lakers in 2 out of their last 3. The bad news is that they lost straight up to the New Orleans Hornets 93 to 99 meaning that sometimes they just blow it.
- New Jersey Nets 17-39 (26-30 ATS) – - Since beating New Orleans and Charlotte on the NBA moneyline odds, the Nets have gotten their asses handed to them versus the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. A 3 game road trip versus Boston, San Antonio again and Houston shouldn’t help matters.
