NBA Betting Picks – Lakers at Jazz Game 3
May 7, 2010
Trying to avoid a fall to an elimination spot, the Utah Jazz host the Los Angeles Lakers this Saturday night, at 8:00 PM ET, at Energy Solutions Arena in Game Three of the series.
NBA Betting Odds:
Los Angeles Lakers +4.5
Utah Jazz -4.5
O/U 202
After falling 0-2 in the series and 0-14 in the last three years at the Staples Center, the Jazz now have the difficult task of defending their building in order to tie this thing, and then pray to steal one when they get back to L.A.
Jerry Sloan said after Game One that they can’t stop Kobe Bryant and the only way will be if he has an off night; so you assume he will try to stop their supporting cast – Gasol and Bynum- but they have failed to do that too.
Kobe Bryant has average 30.5 points and Pau Gasol 23.5, meaning Utah doesn’t have the right players to stop this and if they don’t do something soon, it will be a short series.
However one thing NBA betting fans have to take into consideration for Game Three is that Utah’s home crowd actually matters and affects the pace of the game. With this kind of crazy crowd the refs tend to favor the home team on many calls.
Expect a big game from Deron Williams – best point guard in the league by the way- and Carlos Boozer; this is the reincarnation of the Stockton – Malone duo all over again, they just need time to grown.
However the Jazz need Kyle Korver to step up, he has been off in these matchups against the Lakers, not even wanting to pull the trigger when they need him to.
Keep in mind that Utah is 5-2 ATS as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 points and 29-13 ATS in home games, not to mention a 20-6 ATS after allowing 105 points or more.
The Lakers on the other hand are 3-3 ATS as a road underdog of 3.5 to 6 points and 4-4 ATS in the playoffs this season.
