NBA Betting Picks – Atlanta Hawks Host Raging Bulls
March 2, 2011
The Chicago Bulls continue to do everything right in NBA betting picks, but have a terrible track record when playing in Atlanta. Can they turn a sordid history against the Hawks around as they embark on a five game conquest of playoff contenders? The Bulls will play Atlanta, Orlando, Miami and New Orleans in consecutive games as they continue on a road trip that’s already had pretty good returns for their investors.
Chicago’s gone 3-0 SU and ATS on their extended trip away from home, outlasting Miami and then beating Milwaukee and Washington soundly. Atlanta should be a very tough matchup for them but the Hawks simply haven’t been playing cohesively which is a shame to me because I like the pieces they have in the Dirty Dirty…I just don’t think they fit together all that well.
For now, it looks as though trading Mike Bibby is going to come and bite the Atlanta Hawks right in the ass. Washington bought the veteran point guard out, and it looks as though Bibby is heading to the division rival Miami Heat. It’s not like the Hawks were a great take with Bibby in NBA betting picks, but to see him fall up to the team that most desperately needed a real point guard has to sting.
Chicago Bulls (41-17) vs. Atlanta Hawks (36-24)
Tuesday, March 2nd — Philips Arena — 7:00pm EST
NBA Betting Line: Chicago -4.0 (182.0)
Of course, those riding Atlanta in NBA betting picks have been getting caught all year long. At just 3-6 SU and ATS in their last 9 games, the Hawks are coming off a disturbing loss to Denver. It’s also a bit unnerving that Josh Smith hurt his knee in that game, which makes him questionable for tonight’s game. Smith’s 22.0 points per game will be sorely missed for a team that is averaging just 89.4 points per game over that 3-6 SU record.
Al Horford is undersized and needs to play power-forward. Josh Smith is actually a matchup nightmare at small forward. They need a real center, but thanks to Joe Johnson they can’t afford one. Speaking of which, is Johnson the type of guy you want leading the charge in the war that is the playoffs?
Nope. Derrick Rose is though. The Chicago Bulls love rising up to these statement games and can shut down a wayward Hawks team without a problem to earn some winnings in NBA betting picks for those that have backed them all along this season.

BONUS PICKS!
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS +9.0 over San Antonio Spurs
New York. L.A. Clippers. L.A. Lakers. Those are the three teams that the Cleveland Cavaliers have managed to beat since the holidays. They’ve lost to everyone else. The good news is that they’re facing the travelling Spurs without Tony Parker who have been a miserable play in NBA betting picks. At the very least, Cleveland is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games and for some reason they manage to play pretty well against the bigger teams in the league (aside from the Clippers). All hope is lost in Cleveland…unless you’re betting on the games.
WASHINGTON WIZARDS PK over Golden State Warriors
This is technically a game you should stay away from. Golden State is just 1-5 SU in their last 6 games on the road, and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against Washington. They should be a lot better than they are on the road, but they aren’t. Washington is a horrifying case study of what not to do with your basketball team. At 8-17 ATS in their last 25 games, Washington should be the pick against Golden State but the Warriors have been so bad lately that I have no real idea what to make of them. I’m advising a stay away policy on this game, but if you absolutely want to stack the early games together in NBA betting picks take the home team.
