NBA Betting – Clippers vs Kings
December 7, 2010
NBA bettors know that the Los Angeles Clippers may be ready to do some better things as they have gotten healthier, and there may not be a better team to "get well" against right now than the Sacramento Kings, who have some internal problems that may be hard to solve.
These teams will meet on Monday night at 10:30 PM ET at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where the Kings just played Friday night against the Lakers. In the NBA betting odds on this game, the Clippers are favored by four points, with the total posted at 196.5 points.

Here are some of the NBA betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
- Sacramento has lost its last seven games SU
- Sacramento has played six of its last eight games UNDER the total
- Sacramento has covered three of its last 15 games
- Sacramento has played 11 of its last 15 road games UNDER the total
- Sacramento has lost eleven of its last 13 road games SU
- Sacramento has covered one of its last six road games
- Los Angeles has lost 13 of its last 16 games SU
- Los Angeles has covered five of its last seven games
- Los Angeles has lost 15 of its last 22 home games SU
Demarcus Cousins is a very talented rookie out of Kentucky, but he only played one year of college ball, and sometimes the question of immaturity is a very real one. Cousins came into the situation in Sacramento with a rap for being a bit of a head case, and NBA bettors have noticed that he has fulfilled those expectations. He has clashed with all the coaches, and might normally be benched, if it was different guy at the helm. But he has put the Maloofs in a tough spot, because they spent a lot of money on him, and as is the custom in this day and age, that might put the coach on the hot seat.
Paul Westphal is letting the whole thing get away form him a bit. There is apparently no discipline in Sacramento, where the players are not happy about preferential treatment given to guard Tyreke Evans, and no one seems to know the plays when they are being called on the court. After covering two of their first three games, the Kings have dropped 12 of their last 15 in NBA betting, and the 105-103 loss to Dallas on Saturday night marked the first time in eight games that they broke 100 points. I guess if there is good news, Cousins had 17 points and eleven rebounds in that contest, although he is hitting just 40% on the year.
Here are the head-to-head NBA betting trends for this game:
- Seven of the last eight meetings have gone UNDER the total
- Sacramento has won seven of the last ten meetings SU
- Four of the last five meetings in Los Angeles have gone UNDER the total
- Los Angeles has won five of the last seven meetings SU as the home team
The Clippers may have lost their game last night at Portland, but they are getting a lot healthier, which is going to have its effect. While they were missing key players with injuries, Eric Gordon has emerged as one of the league’s top scorers, pouring in 24 points a game, and Blake Griffin is taking over many games, playing like a veteran already, with double digits in rebounds in each of his last eight games and a scoring average that is now up over the 20 ppg mark. Baron Davis has returned and played 28 minutes last night, with 14 points and eight assists. What’s more, Chris Kaman is back now, with ten points in 13 minutes on Friday, and bringing along his defensive and rebounding presence. This team has now covered five of its last seven games. This team may be shaping up, a consideration that should not be lost on NBA bettors. You know this is a team doing SOMETHING right when they broke an 18-game losing streak against San Antonio last Wednesday. We’re going to lay the points.
