It’s time to place your NBA Bets, and when you do so, why not wager on two of the league’s best teams? With both the Celtics and Lakers in action on Monday night, who should be your picks?

Betting Odds:

Boston: -4

Charlotte: +4

Total: 182 ½

The NBA Bets start in Charlotte, where after a dominating Super Bowl Sunday win, the Celtics will be back in action.

On Sunday, Boston hosted the Orlando Magic in an Eastern Conference Finals rematch, and much like last spring, it went the way of the Celtic. Boston won 91-80, as All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo had one of the best games of his season, scoring 26 points and adding seven assists.

Yet it’s the Celtics defense which is the reason to make them one of your NBA Bets on Monday. In the win, Boston held a highly efficient Orlando team to just 34 percent shooting, well below their season average of 46 percent. Going against a Charlotte team which is one of the NBA’s worst offensively (93.6 points per game, which ranks 28th in the league), they should cruise to victory.

Usually playing on the second of back-to-back nights, the more well-rested team would be the play here. But too much Boston defense with not enough Charlotte offense equals an NBA Bets victory for the Celtics.

NBA Bets Pick: Boston -4

Los Angeles Lakers (35-16 SU, 22-28-1 ATS) at Memphis Grizzlies (27-25 SU, 32-19-1 ATS)

Monday, February 7: 8:00 p.m., Live from FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN

Betting Odds:

Los Angeles: -3 ½

Memphis: +3 ½

Total: 194

Next up we travel down the East Coast, where the defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers visit the Memphis Grizzlies.

For Los Angeles, a cross-country road trip couldn’t have come at a worse time, as they’ve now lost three of their last five, and are just 1-4 against the spread over that stretch too. Los Angeles is coming off a 101-95 victory in New Orleans over the weekend, where Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant combined for 66 points.

Still, we’ll go ahead and take the Grizzlies here. With all their young athletes, and aggressive defense, they seem to be the type of team that gives the older Lakers a bit more trouble. These two met in Los Angeles in the beginning of January, and Memphis wiped the floor with the Lakers 104-85. While a margin of victory like that doesn’t seem likely, a win still seems feasible none the less. Expect an especially big game for Rudy Gay, who had 27 points the last time these two met.

The Los Angeles Lakers may be the defending champs, and have one of the best records in the league, but that hardly means they’re without flaw. It’ll show up Monday, as for the second time in the last two matchups, the Grizzlies will steal an NBA Bets win.

NBA Bets Pick: Memphis +3 ½
