NASCAR betting – Shelby 427 Top Three
February 27, 2009
As NASCAR betting fans eagerly watch the qualifying runs at Las Vegas throughout this week, they will also have the opportunity to evaluate the NASCAR odds that the BetOnline sportsbook has posted. This week is perhaps a dream week for those who bet on NASCAR, as the good ol’ boys take to the hybrid track in Sin City, which has been known to even the playing field a little. This means that almost anyone, no matter how small of a team is behind them, could conceivably take the checkered flag on Sunday.
When looking at NASCAR lines this week, you’ll see that there is a little extra value tacked on to nearly every driver in the field, which leaves the door open to a big payday for sports betting customers this week.
Let’s take a look at some of the real contenders at the mid-week mark!
Jeff Gordon
After a second place showing last week, the living NASCAR legend has a little bit of a spring in his step, something that wasn’t there just a year ago. For the first time in his career, Gordon did not post a victory last season, and seemed content just running near the middle of the pack, collecting points, and qualifying for the Chase for the Cup. Gordon appears motivated to prove that he is still a force to be reckoned with in NASCAR betting, and can still take the checkered flag in any race. Could this be the week that Gordon officially breaks out of his funk and stands atop the podium? The BetOnline Sportsbook is giving you +700 odds to take that chance!
Matt Kenseth
Tough to say no to a guy who has already won the first two races on two completely different tracks. Now, the circuit stops at a track that is, essentially, a fusion of the two tracks on which Kenseth has already been victorious at. The former Sprint Cup champion will have to return to his roots as a patient driver, as the speeds will be lowered considerably in this race, but thus far, he has shown that he can basically do it all. The No. 17 car is also listed at slightly inflated +700 odds to win the race, so you can cash in big if he manages the three-peat.
Kyle Busch
Las Vegas is home for Kyle Busch, although he has looked mighty comfortable everywhere else so far this season. In fact, he’s looked pretty comfortable in trucks, and Nationwide cars as well. “Rowdy” is out to prove that last season was no fluke, and he is indeed a top-notch driver on the NASCAR betting circuit. As it stands right now, Kyle could be in line to be one of the best to ever get behind a wheel. The BetOnline sportsbook lists him at +600 to keep the momentum going this weekend.
