NASCAR Betting Odds – Smoke is Ready to Break Through at Sonoma
June 20, 2010
Tony Stewart hasn’t had the best of years so far on the Sprint Cup Circuit, but that could all change this week because NASCAR heads to Sonoma for the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
Smoke has had so much success over road courses in his career that he’s a +450 favorite in the NASCAR sportsbook to win the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
Tony may be the favorite, but is he the best NASCAR bet to win the Toyota/Save Mart 350?
NASCAR: Toyota/Save Mart 350
Where: Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, CA
When: June 20th, 2010 at 3:00 pm EST
Track: 1.99 mile Road Course with 12 Turns
TV: TNT
To Win
Best NASCAR Bet A: Jeff Gordon +500
Gordo’s second choice in the NASCAR sportsbook to win at Sonoma this Sunday. He should be the first choice. As well as Smoke has been driving the past two weeks, Gordo has been driving better for the entire year and actually out finished Smoke last week. Jeff has 5 victories at Infineon Raceway and has an average finish of 9.3. He’s simply the best driver for the course at the betting odds in the sportsbook right now. Also, doesn’t it feel like Jeff’s been sitting on a victory for a long time now? He does have 6 Top 5 finishes this year. I believe he gets that elusive first victory of the season this Sunday.
Best NASCAR Bet B: Tony Stewart +450
There’s no doubt that Smoke is one of the best road course drivers on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Circuit. The man just knows how to drive over a road course. He only has 2 victories at Infineon Raceway, however, which is the reason he’s only my 2nd best bet in the NASCAR sportsbook not my first best bet. After struggling for most of this year, Tony has been pretty good lately including finishing 5th at Michigan last week.
Worst NASCAR Bet: None
Every driver in the sportsbook is going off at better than fair NASCAR betting odds to win the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
Best Underdog NASCAR Bet: Kasey Kahne +3000
Up until last year, Kasey was a guy who always did well at Sonoma during qualifying, but never did well at Sonoma during the actual race. Now, he has a victory at Sonoma under his belt. He also finished 2nd last week at Michigan. All of the signs point to Kasey doing very well this Sunday except for one, his NASCAR odds in the sportsbook. That’s okay. I’ll take a shot on him at +3000 to win his second straight race at Sonoma.
Others To Consider
Juan Pablo Montoya +800 – - Montoya’s always good at Sonoma. His average finish is 4.3 and he does have a victory over the track.
Kyle Busch +500 – - He has a victory at Infineon Raceway and his 2010 has been much better than his 2009. He’s a better road course driver than teammate Denny Hamlin.
Marcose Ambrose +800 – - Ambrose finished 3rd at Sonoma in 2009. The year before he ran into a transmission issue and finished 42nd. He’s got a big shot on Sunday.
Robby Gordon +2500 – - Robby won this race in 2003. He hasn’t made an impact recently, but he’s still worth a look as an underdog NASCAR bet in this.
