Monday Night MLB Parlay – Mariners vs Cardinals and Brewers vs Angels
June 14, 2010
On a light night in the MLB, a two game parlay is just the thing to get the most bang for your betting buck. In Game 1, the Seattle Mariners take on the St. Louis Cardinals while the Milwaukee Brewers head to South California for a date with the Los Angeles Angels in Game 2.
MLB Betting Line – Game 1:
Seattle Mariners +1 ½ (+125) at St. Louis Cardinals -1 ½ (-145)
Monday, June 14 -7:05 PM ET
Over/Under – 7 ½
The Mariners’ need to find some sort of spark to get their season on track as they are seriously underperforming considering how much they improved their roster in the offseason. They’ll look to Luke French (0-0 6.35 ERA) to provide a solid outing on Monday night as it will be the left hander’s first start of the season.
The Mariners’ 6-foot-4 left-hander has a tall task ahead of him as he will be facing one of the league’s most dominating pitchers in Adam Wainwright (8-4 2.30 ERA). French is taking the place of Ian Snell in the rotation, who has been very ineffective this year. In his last appearance against the Rangers on Wednesday, he relieved Snell in the second inning and went 5 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking none.
Adam Wainwright will be looking to bounce back from a shaky start against the Dodgers this past Wednesday as he walked a season-high five batters and allowed four runs on eight hits. He won’t be happy with that performance and will be looking for something special tonight as he is making his 100th career start.
MLB Betting Line – Game 2:
Milwaukee Brewers +1 ½ (-150) at Los Angeles Angles -1 ½ (+130)
Monday, June 14 -10:05 PM ET
Over/Under – 10
The Angels return home after a very successful road trip, and will be looking to carry that momentum into a series with the Brew Crew. The book makers don’t seem to be too impressed with the pitching matchup Monday night between the Angels’ Joe Saunders (5-6 4.35 ERA) and the Brewers’ Randy Wolf (4-6 5.31 ERA) as the runline has been set at 10.
That may be more the recent performance of Wolf rather than Saunders as Randy has allowed at least five earned runs in each of his last two starts. His last outing was particularly bad as he gave up eight earned runs and also set a career high and tied a team record by allowing five home runs.
Wolf is hoping that it is his teams bats are the ones making the noise on Monday, and that is a good possibility as Prince Fielder and Corey Hart have been killing the ball lately. Prince started slow, hitting just two home runs in April, but slugged 100 points higher in May and has been even hotter in June. Combine that with how Hart has been hitting the baseball, smashing 14 home runs in his last 28 games, and you have to like the Brewers chances.
MLB Parlay Pick – St. Louis Cardinals -1 ½ (-145) and Milwaukee Brewers (+135)
