The AFC West is still for grabs since the Chiefs lost two of their last three and the Chargers won their last two. Over the last seasons, the NFL betting fans have watched the Chargers come back from a terrible start, so could this year be the same story? I think so.

San Diego is having an amazing year offensively. Actually it is quarterback Phillip Rivers who is having the tremendous season, as he has thrown for 2,944 yards, 10 TDs and eight interceptions without a good running game and without a start receiver other than Antonio Gates. However, the tight end will probably not play tonight.

Sports betting fans can expect a shutout because Kyle Orton is having a really good year, as he has recorded 2,806 yards, 16 TDs and five interceptions also without a running game.
However, keep in mind that despite that the Chargers are 4-5 so far on the season, they can stop the pass, as they are the best in stopping their opponents’ passing yards, allowing just 185 yards a game through the air.

DENVER is 1-10 ATS off an over, 2-9 ATS as a road underdog of 7.5 to 10 points, 1-5 ATS off a win against a division rival and 2-12 ATS when playing against a team with a losing record. SAN DIEGO is 53-31 ATS off BB ATS wins, 6-1 ATS in a home game where the total is greater than or equal to 49.5, 9-5 ATS after 2 or more consecutive wins but 0-3 ATS after a bye week.

Simmons’ pick: Despite the trends, take the Broncos with the points and the OVER.
