MLB Sunday Betting – Why the Tigers Will Beat the Rangers in Texas

The Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers are in similar positions right now in the grand scheme of things. Both teams are stacked with solid talent and a good mix of veterans and young players, and both are struggling desperately to get over the hump in their respective divisions.

The Tigers are expected to be the MLB betting underdog on Sunday against the Rangers according to the baseball betting odds, but the Rangers are not the most reliable team to bet on as the baseball betting favorite.

The Rangers will have the MLB betting odds on their side as well as the pitching matchup, however, unless Detroit’s second young pitching star starts throwing the way he is capable of throwing on Sunday.

Lewis has pitched very well for the Rangers and stepped up the way they needed him to in order to complete their staff as a competitive unit. The Rangers still have an offensive capable of putting up some serious numbers as well, as is customary with the franchise. But they have also done a great job of transitioning into the right type of ballclub, one that values pitching and defense over appeasing fans and putting up big numbers.

Detroit has done the same and it almost allowed them to win the AL Central last year despite a sub-par offense.

For Detroit to make it back to that level and compete again they will need better pitching from Porcello, the young phenom and sophomore.

His ERA is over 6 right now but he has been throwing his two-seam fastball well so the results should come soon.

Porcello has to not get nervous and settle down as he did all year as a rookie when expectations were low.

Expect that to start again on Sunday’s game as Porcello throws a gem for the MLB betting underdog Tigers, who will beat the baseball odds against the favored Rangers on the road.
