Today San Francisco goes with Jonathan Sanchez, who has been solid in his last five outings. After winning his last two games, he has improved his ERA to 2.63. However, Sanchez has had problems with the Mets, losing his last five starts against New York.

Opposite Sanchez, the Mets will go with Mike Pelfrey.  With only one win so far this season, Pelfrey is fighting against his soaring ERA of 7.39. His one win on the season, however, came against the Mets, as Pelfrey is 1-0 with an ERA of 2.92 at Citi Field in 2011. Not to mention, in his last seven starts there, he is undefeated at 4-0 with an ERA of 2.20.  Despite his below-average performance on the season, Pelfrey looks to continue his success against the Mets.

Carlos Beltran of the Mets is the team’s ray of light, as he is seven for 17 in his last four games with five RBIs.  Against the Giants, Beltran has averaged .429.

But San Francisco has dominated this series so far, as well as winning six of the last seven matchups between these two teams.  Based on this trend, and the Giants tenacity to reach the top of their division, the best MLB bet today is on San Francisco.
