MLB Parlay Picks – Braun, Brewers Look To Break Out Bats Against Halos Again

June 15, 2010

After laying a surprising, but undoubtedly emphatic, 12-2 smackdown on the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night, the Milwaukee Brewers will be looking to double up on their fun by doing it again tonight when they play their NL counterparts at Angel Stadium tonight at 7 PM ET.

Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 and drove in five runs to lead Milwaukee to victory while Corey Hart went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in the win.

Over 9½ -105

Under 9½ -115

Milwaukee (27-37 SU, 36-24-4 O/U, 28-36 RL)

L.A. Angels (36-31 SU, 33-32-2 O/U, 37-30 RL)

Howie Kendrick collected two of L.A.’s four team hits while Joe Saunders allowed six earned runs on six hits – including two home runs – in just 5.2 innings to get tagged with the loss.

Here is a look at tonight’s key MLB betting trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and expert MLB Picks.

Milwaukee 411

Brewers are 2-5 in Bush’s last 7 interleague starts.

Brewers are 3-11 in Bush’s last 14 starts.

Brewers are 1-6 in Bush’s last 7 starts vs. a team with a winning record.

Los Angeles 411

Angels are 4-0 in Santana’s last 4 home starts.

Angels are 5-1 in Santana’s last 6 starts.

The Starters: Tonight, the Brewers will hand the ball to veteran right-hander Dave Bush (1-5, 5.06 ERA) while the Angels counter with right-hander Ervin Santana (6-4, 3.52 ERA).

Bush allowed four earned runs on six hits while walking three and striking out five in six innings of a 5-4 win over Chicago on Friday. Santana lasted a season-low five innings in allowing four earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.

Analysis: The Brewers may have pounded the struggling Joe Saunders senseless on Monday night, but I think they’re going to have a bit more trouble with Ervin Santana tonight despite the fact that Santana allowed four earned runs in his last start.

Prior to his last outing, Santana had won five straight starts while allowing one earned run or less in three of his previous four starts and I think he will get back to throwing the ball like that tonight.

The Brewers have won two consecutive starts with Dave Bush on the mound and three of his last four starts overall, but each win came by just one run and Bush has given up at least three earned runs in seven of his last 10 starts overall.

With the Brewers going a dismal 2-5 in Bush’s last seven interleague starts and an even more depressing 1-6 in Dave Bush’s last seven starts against a team with a winning record and the Angels going 4-0 in Ervin Santana’s last four home starts and 5-1 in Santana’s last six starts overall, I think this game is as close to a lock as it gets.

In addition to playing the Angels to cover the MLB betting Line with the solid home win, I also like the Over to cash in as it has gone 9-1-1 in Dave Bush’s last 11 road starts and a consistent 7-1 in Angels last 8 interleague games.

MLB Expert Picks: Angels -1½ Runs/Over 9 Total Runs
