MLB Odds – Three For the Sunday Road
April 10, 2011
Road teams are always hard to back in baseball betting action, but when you can pick your spots with them, they can pay off at some great prices. Check out these three road warriors that will beat the MLB odds on Sunday!
Washington Nationals @ New York Mets
Game Date/Time: Sunday, April 10, 1:10 ET
Game Location: Citi Field, New York, NY
TV/Radio Broadcast: MASN, SNY, Sirius
The Mets simply aren’t all that good, and we know that the MLB odds are going to be really on the side of the Nats in this one. Washington just has it all going against it. Jason Marquis was a gas can last season, and the oddsmakers know it, and no one really wants to bet on the Nationals in the first place. However, New York just isn’t good enough, especially with Chris Young on the mound, to be able to lay the -180 or whatever is coming on Sunday. Young had a great first start of the year, but we know that it won’t last. There’s a reason that he was basically picked up off of the scrap heap in the offseason; Washington will capitalize and cash our hefty underdog tickets on Sunday.
SLAM THE NATIONALS!
Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago White Sox
Game Date/Time: Sunday, April 10, 2:10 ET
Game Location: US Cellular Field, Chicago, IL
TV/Radio Broadcast: Sun Sports, Comcast, Sirius
Here’s another team that has really struggled this season in the AL East, as the Rays have really yet to get their groove on this year either. They’re 0-6 against the MLB odds going into Friday, but perhaps getting away from Tropicana Field is just what the doctor ordered. Remember that this was a team that just played significantly better ball in the playoffs last year at the Texas Rangers (2-0) than it did back at home in “The Trop” (0-3). Jeff Niemann has a cannon for an arm, and he is one of the most consistent hurlers that Manager Joe Maddon has at his disposal; look for him to get the job done Sunday afternoon.
SLAM THE RAYS!
New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
Game Date/Time: Sunday, April 10, 8:05 ET
Game Location: Fenway Park, Boston, MA
TV/Radio Broadcast: ESPN, Sirius
The Yanks really can help put an early nail in Boston’s heart this season if it can come up with a big time sweep at Fenway Park in the opening series of the year for the Sox in Beantown. There is definitely something wrong with the BoSox right now, as they are 0-6 to start off the season coming into this series, and they don’t look like a bunch that can beat the MLB odds against anyone in the game, let alone against the men in pinstripes. C.C. Sabathia makes his third start of the year in this one, and Josh Beckett, who has a terrible history of late against the Yanks, just doesn’t stand a chance of surviving. Even if New York is favored, you have to back it on Sunday Night Baseball.
