MLB Odds – Slam the Twins, Orioles and Brewers over Tuesday Night
April 7, 2011
It’s Hump Day at BetOnline Sportsbook meaning a number of series going on the diamond are already one if not two MLB odds games in. I’ve got a trio of calls going tonight you certainly will not want to miss!
Minnesota Twins @ New York Yankees
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, April 6th, 7:05 ET
Game Location: Yankees Stadium, Bronx, NY
TV/Radio Broadcast: FOX-North, YES, XM
MLB Odds
Minnesota Twins +1.5 -130 +140
(Carl Pavano – R)
Cincinnati Reds -1.5 +110 -160
(Freddy Garcia – R)
Total 10.5 O -115 10.5 U -105
Heading into the 2011 MLB odds season, I’ve been touting the fact that I believe the Yankees are susceptible to getting beaten by those they’ve dominated through the years.
Another year older and longer in the tooth has these up and coming teams ready to finally overcome them, which is exactly what happened last night when the Twins stormed back in the late innings to tie the game up before winning in extras. Freddy Garcia has had his moments the last couple years, but for the most part, he’s tossing batting practice out there.
Look for the Twins to construct upon that confidence building win last night and take a 2-1 series lead behind staff ace Carl Pavano.
SLAM THE TWINS!
Detroit Tigers @ Baltimore Orioles
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, April 6, 7:05 ET
Game Location: Orioles Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore, MA
TV/Radio Broadcast: FOX-Detroit, MASN2, XM
MLB Odds
Detroit Tigers -1.5 +115 -140
(Justin Verlander – R)
Baltimore Orioles +1.5 -135 +120
(Bradley Bergesen – R)
Total 8.5 O +100 8.5 U -120
I’ve made it a point to go with the flow at the beginning of MLB odds seasons. Every year, there are teams that go on unforeseen runs either in the win or loss department, and that’s exactly where the O’s find themselves this season. After sweeping the Rays in Tampa, manager Showalter’s outfit took the series opener with the Tigers and I look for them to continue winning in tonight’s spot. Verlander has been a dreadful April pitcher throughout his career ( 7-11 with a 5.06 ERA), and that might just offset his dominating career numbers against the O’s (5-0 with a 2.52 ERA in 7 starts). Still, I’m going to throw caution to the wind and back the Orioles with emergency starting pitcher Bergesen leading their MLB odds charge; Baltimore is 10-1 in Brad’s 11 career starts vs. AL Central opposition.
SLAM THE ORIOLES!
Atlanta Braves @ Milwaukee Brewers
Game Date/Time: Tuesday, April 6, 7:05 ET
Game Location: Miller Park, Milwaukee, WI
TV/Radio Broadcast: SportSouth, FOX-Wisconsin, XM
MLB Odds
Atlanta Braves +1.5 -220 -110
(Mike Minor – L)
Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 +180 -110
(Marco Estrada – R)
Total 9 O -110 9 U -110
After the Braves and Brewers partook in a fantastic pitchers duels that saw Yovani Gallardo outduel Derek Lowe in a 1-0 win last night, I’m looking for the offenses to erupt this evening with a pair of pitchers filling in for injured starters. Minor is in for Jair Jurrjens while Estrada is the first experiment put in place to fill the void left by Zach Greinke; neither has much big league starting experience and both should feel the wrath of both offenses that have been kept in check throughout the first two games of this MLB odds series.
SLAM THE OVER!
