MLB Betting – Tigers, Twins Battle for AL Central

The race is on for the AL Central and the Tigers and Twins have proven themselves to MLB betting fans and sports betting fans that they are the top two contenders for the crown.

Tonight in Minnesota, the two teams renew their rivalry with sports betting fans looking forward to the matchup between two quality pitchers in Jeremy Bonderman and Francisco Liriano. MLB betting fans with futures bets on the line also have an eye on this series as the winner could put themselves in prime position to jump out to a lead in the divsision.

The Tigers had a fairly tough time on the road in Interleague play as they lost 2 of 3 to the Mets and Braves.

In fact, the Tigers haven’t been all that great on the road all year, and they only sport a +5 run differential on the year.

But their pitching and specifically their bullpen gives them a good chance in every game. Minnesota has also struggled a bit as of late and is just .5 games up on the Tigers while their run differential is at +40 runs on the year after seeing a drop.

Francisco Liriano gives the Twins an advantage in the pitching department and he has done well against the Tigers in the recent past when healthy. Bonderman is 3-5 on the year but has pitched better than his record indicates. While the Tigers are 6th in the majors in batting average, that hasn’t translated as well as it should to scoring runs and much of the lineup is scuffling right now or was before yesterday’s big win over Atlanta.

Lirano should take advantage of that as MLB betting and sports betting fans will end up watching him pitch a gem at home. Sports betting fans still think Minnesota is the team to beat in the division and they’ll prove it tonight.

Minnesota has a better lineup that is more consistent and always seems to hit well against the Tigers and they also have better starting pitching at this point in the season, which Liriano will prove tonight now that he is fully healthy.
