October 16, 2010
MLB betting action is wrapping up this year, and here at BetOnline Sportsbook, we’ve got all of the ins and outs covered for what you need to know about the MVP odds for the 2010 ALCS.
Check out how these MLB betting odds shake out for the potential ALCS heroes!
The first thing that you’re going to want to think about in MLB betting action for the ALCS is which team is going to win the series, and how a team could win it.
Let’s face the facts here. If the Texas Rangers are beating the New York Yankees, then Cliff Lee (+900) is probably a prime candidate for MVP. The bad news here is that you’re also betting on the Rangers to win this series in seven games, because that would be the only way that he is throwing two games.

Another potential candidate would be Elvis Andrus (+1400). We tend to like his MLB betting odds better than Josh Hamilton (+700) due to the fact that Hamilton is still banged up and wearing that flak jacket. Andrus is the catalyst for this offense, and usually when you’re seeing those antlers go up in the air from the Texas dugout, Andrus is in on the play.
CJ Wilson (+1400), the Game 1 starter, could be a respectable choice as well, as it is almost a certainty that he is going to pitch twice in this series.
That’s exactly why we think that CC Sabathia (+600) is correctly lined as the favorite to beat the MLB betting lines and win the ALCS MVP award. Sabathia is coming off of an iffy start against the Minnesota Twins in the ALDS and has had plenty of time to rest up for this start against the Rangers. You know that he has electrifying stuff, and the odds have it, if the Yanks are winning this series in five games, Sabathia is the only man picking up two victories.
If you’re looking for offensive weapons for your MLB betting wagers, Alex Rodriguez (+600) and Derek Jeter (+700) are the best picks, purely based on name recognition. Jeter has done this countless times before, and A-Rod is always a candidate to go off for some ridiculous games in a row.
The hottest batter right now in the Yankee lineup is Curtis Granderson (+1400). He is hitting nearly .500 and has been tearing the cover off the baseball. We tend to believe that that won’t keep up, but Granderson has the ability, especially if he can get on the bases, to be a real difference maker.
The man shutting the door for the Yanks could be the MVP as well. Mariano Rivera (+1400) would probably need to save all four New York wins to beat the MLB betting lines in this one, but the odds of that happening are great. The voters could also want to give one more to Mo before he calls it a career, as he is clearly the best closer in baseball postseason history.
