MLB Betting Odds – White Sox vs Rangers
April 28, 2010
The White Sox have been on a rollercoaster this season, and it’s not even a month old. Chicago heads into Tuesday’s series opener against the Texas Rangers fresh off three straight walk-off victories. But the high they are on is right on the heels that saw them post six losses in a seven-game span.
You have to think that this team must already be emotionally drained after what they’ve been through so far.
The Texas Rangers have the same 8-11 record, but have come to that mark in a much less dramatic fashion. Getting the ball for the Rangers tonight is young CJ Wilson, who has very good so far in this young season.
He’ll have to be on point tonight as he goes up against one of the best lefthanders in the game in Mark Buehrle.
MLB Betting Odds
Chicago +1 ½ (-160)
O/U (9)
Texas -1 ½ (+140)
Wilson comes in with a 1-1 record but has a miniscule 1.37 ERA on the year. He has worked at least six innings in all three of his starts, and he’s held the opposition scoreless twice.
The White Sox will be hoping their ace, Mark Buehrle, has his first good outing in a while. Buehrle has been hit hard his last two starts, giving up 12 runs in just 10 2/3 innings.
Here are some MLB Betting trends for this contest:
- Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
- White Sox are 4-1 in Buehrles last 5 starts vs. Rangers.
- White Sox are 4-1 in Buehrles last 5 road starts vs. Rangers.
- Under is 3-1-1 in Buehrles last 5 road starts vs. Rangers.
- Under is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings in Texas.
- White Sox are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Texas.
- White Sox are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings.
Texas fans will be familiar with a few of the White Sox on the field Tuesday night as Omar Vizquel and Andruw Jones make their return to Arlington. You have to think that Jones is out to prove anyone wrong who thinks that he is just a shell of his former self.
And with the White Sox, Jones has managed to find some of that old magic. He has been on a tear of late, batting .341 with six home runs and nine RBIs in his last 12 games.
If he keeps hitting the ball like that, he’ll have a few teams remembering just how good he was just a few seasons ago.
You know that CJ Wilson will have taken a notice to Jones’ performance of late, and the way he’s been pitching lately, he’s tough to bet against.
Combine that with the fact Chicago comes in off such an emotional series, and this has Texas win written all over it.
Take the Rangers at -150. << Sign UP NOW >>
