MLB Betting – Mariners, Orioles Open Three-Game Set

Camden Yards will be the site of a three-game set between he Orioles and Mariners starting tonight, as the M’s and Orioles both look to climb back into their respective division races in the AL East and AL West.

MLB betting fans haven’t had too much luck picking either team lately according to the baseball betting odds but now that both of these teams are playing each other, they become more attractive to many prospective bettors.

The MLB betting odds have the Mariners as a -1 ½ run favorite for tonight’s game thanks in large part to the presence of Cliff Lee, giving the M’s a huge pitching matchup advantage.

The Orioles counter with David Hernandez who’s had a rough year and Baltimore will need a big performance from him to cover the baseball betting odds.

Lee’s last two games on the mound were 7 innings of scoreless ball against the Rangers and an 8-inning, 4-run effort against the Tampa Bay Rays, two solid performances against two very good American League teams.

For Hernandez, the results haven’t been nearly as good on the year or recently.

Hernandez is 0-4 with a 5.74 ERA and he was shelled in his last outing while having an average performance before that against the Red Sox.

The Mariners are not a good road team but the Orioles have been brutal both at home and away on the 2010 betting season.

While the Mariners are on the road, they have the advantage of having better starting pitching and a better bullpen as their staff ERA is third in the AL.

The Orioles on the other hand are awful at both pitching and hitting. While the Orioles’ young players give them some hope for the future, their overall shaky roster gives them little hope of winning tonight’s game according to the MLB betting odds.

The baseball betting odds have Seattle as the favorite and with Lee on the mound they have a big advantage going into tonight’s matchup.

Picking Seattle is a good idea according to the baseball betting odds also because they have more to play for in an easier division.
