MLB Betting Insider – Bank on Second Tier Money Starters to Boost MLB Bankroll
June 7, 2010
MLB fans and betting enthusiasts across the globe, likely know that Colorado Rockies gifted right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez is having a season for the ages, either setting or surpassing several MLB records en route to what looks like a sure-fire NL Cy Young award, even at this early juncture.
However, I want my MLB betting brethren to know that Jimenez and the other four starters that make up the list of top five MLB money starters aren’t the only hurlers that have been big-time payday producers.
This look at baseball’s best money starters ranked six through 10 will give avid MLB gamblers the breakdown on just which ‘second tier’ starting pitchers are leading their respective ballclubs to consistent win – and MLB betting backers to payday-producing picks.
With an entertaining lineup of MLB games on the docket for tonight, let me get started.
Johnny Cueto – Cincinnati 8-3 (+583)
Cueto has been rock-so9lid for the Reds this season, going 5-1 with a respectable 4.09 ERA this season. The talented right-hander has led Cincinnati to seven straight wins while going 5-0 during the stretch with two no decisions.
Nick Blackburn –Minnesota 8-3 (+553)
Blackburn has compiled a respectable 6-3 record heading into the new week, but has lost two straight starts and has mostly been given a ton of run support this season as evidenced by his high, 5.21 ERA. The veteran right-hander has given up five earned runs in each of his last two starts.
Livan Hernandez – Washington 7-4 (+544)
The seemingly ageless Hernandez has gone just 4-3 this season, but has recorded an outstanding 2.22 ERA while helping the Washington nationals go an impressive 7-4 in his 11 starts this season.
Chris Carpenter – St. Louis 10-2 (+542)
The Cy Young-caliber right-hander has gone a nearly perfect 7-1 this season with a solid 2.76 ERA while helping the Cardinals go 10-2 when he takes the mound. The streaking hurler has won two straight starts and three of his last four outings overall – while allowing just one earned run in each victory.
Jeff Niemann – Tampa Bay 9-2 (+538)
Niemann (5-0) may not have the household name recognition that some of the other starters on this last, but he has helped the Tampa Bay Rays go 9-2 in his 11 starts this season. The hard-throwing right-hander has led the Rays to six straight wins while going 4-0 during the stretch with two no decisions.
