The world of baseball and the sports betting public haven’t forgotten about Dallas Braden’s perfect game nearly a week ago. For the left handed ace, who joined an esteemed club that has just 19 members, he’ll have to prove that he can produce more than just one big game. Before his perfect outing, he had allowed 19 hits and 9 runs in 11 innings over the two games prior. It’s not just luck that earns you a perfect game, and while we all know that for sure, Braden will have to prove it wasn’t just a stroke of fortune.

Putting up a great effort against the Angels is familiar territory for Braden. In his last game against them, in their park, Braden threw 6.0 innings and allowed just 5 hits and 3 runs earned just over a month ago.

The Athletics play with all sorts of confidence when he’s at the mound, having lost just two games in his last seven starts. Braden is 4-2 SU with a 3.33 ERA this season thus far.

The bullpen for the Los Angeles Angels has been much more to blame for their recent losses than the starting rotation.

Saunders has the ability to pitch a relatively good game, but the Angels have been morbid at the plate recently. Teams on the road, especially in the American League, can constantly make do at the plate even if they haven’t been consistent. Teams at home tend to play the same way at home as they have been, at least until mid-June when teams start to make some definitive distance.

Which is why I can’t trust the Angles in the slightest. They may be getting the nod from the oddsmakers, but all that’s telling me is that these are some damn good baseball betting odds for the Athletics.
