MLB Betting – Can Astros End Six-Game Skid vs. Diamondbacks?

The Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks are both among the better franchises in the National League and perennial MLB betting picks to do well according to the baseball betting futures odds.

While neither team was expected to be a World Series title contender according to most MLB betting fans’ picks, the baseball betting futures odds were fairly kind to both teams.

But things haven’t worked out early for both the Astros and Diamondbacks as they find themselves in last place in their respective divisions.

The Astros come into tonight’s game at home against Arizona on a six-game losing streak, which is something that good baseball teams simply don’t do.

The Astros can end that tonight with a good pitching performance, however, or perhaps an offensive explosion at hitter-friendly Minute Maid Park.

The hefty 26-year old Paulino has been bad most of the year with a high WHIP number of 1.66. That’s something baseball stat geeks are very alarmed about and showcases his inexperience and struggles so far.

Paulino is 0-3 on the year and a big reason why the Astros are underdogs in tonight’s game. But his opponent, Cesar Valdez, is even less experience.

Valdez has the advantage of being more of an unknown quantity as far as scouting reports and personal experiences goes, and he has been impressive at Triple-A this season for the Diamondbacks.

Arizona is ahead in a big way on the run differential for the year as well as the Astros are a staggering 40+ runs behind the eight ball.

While Houston has the advantage at home and in intangibles, they are struggling badly right now, making them the MLB betting underdog going in according to the baseball betting odds.

The baseball betting odds could be a bit tricky for Arizona to cover but they should be able to get it done once their superior offense comes alive on the road.
