MLB Betting Breakdown – Second Tier Money Starters Cashing in For MLB Gamblers
June 14, 2010
Sure, MLB betting aficionados know all about Rockies’ right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez and his season for the ages.
Heck, MLB gamblers likely already know that Mike Pelfrey and Carlos Silva are having absolutely fantastic, bankroll-boosting seasons for the Mets and Cubs respectively.
But what about the starting pitchers that sit just outside of the league’s top 10 money starters, yet have consistently put MLB betting bucks in pro baseball gamblers’ pockets?
This look at the No. 11-15 best starting money pitchers in all of baseball will help expand the scope of winning hurlers that MLB bettors can count on to consistently crank out positive paydays for MLB bettors everywhere.
With that said – and a full slate of MLB action taking place all week long – let me get down to business.
Tommy Hanson – Atlanta 10-3 (+531)
Hanson (6-3, 3.69 ERA) has won three straight starts with two no decisions in his last five outings while leading the first place Braves to five straight wins. Hanson has not allowed more than two earned runs in four consecutive starts.
Barry Zito – San Francisco – 9-4 (+531)
Zito (7-2, 3.10 ERA) has only recorded two wins in his last six starts, but the Giants have gone 4-2 during the stretch in which Zito held the opposition to three earned runs or less in four of those six starts.
Freddy Garcia – Chicago White Sox 7-4 (+516)
Once a former phenom for the White Sox over a decade ago, Garcia (6-3, 4.82 ERA) is back with the ChiSox and working his old magic as he has not allowed more than two earned runs in three straight starts and six of seven overall while recording a win in each of those starts.
Kevin Correia – San Diego 8-4(+507)
I don’t know how Correia made this lust but the mediocre right-hander (5-4, 4.98 ERA) has allowed at least four earned runs in four of his last six starts overall. Still, the impressive Padres have overcome Correia’s poor pitching to win four straight starts behind the veteran right-hander.
Trevor Cahill – Oakland 6-3 (+455)
Cahill (5-2, 2.91 ERA) has been absolutely rock-solid for the A’s in limiting the opposition to one earned runs in four of his last five starts while not allowing more than three earned runs in a whopping eight consecutive starts.
