Miami in a Funk – Rose and Bulls visit Wade and Heat

February 12, 2009

The Miami Heat (27-24 SU, 23-26-2 ATS, 27-24 O/U) have dropped three of its last four games and five of seven overall in the BetOnline Sportsbook and come into tonight’s contest coming off a convincing 99-82 home loss to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night where they failed to cover the spread in the BetOnline Sportsbook as 1.5-point underdogs while the game’s final scored played UNDER the posted O/U total of 205 points.

Miami got a team-high 33 points from shooting guard Dwyane Wade in the loss, but were outscored in three of the game’s four quarters.

The Chicago Bulls (23-29 SU, 25-26-1 ATS, 29-22 O/U) are on a mini-surge having won two of three and five of its last seven overall, including a thrilling 107-102 win over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.

Chicago covered the spread for BetOnline NBA sports betting backers everywhere as a 3-point underdog at home while the final scored played OVER the posted O/U total of 189.5 points.

Chicago got a team-high 24 points from Ben Gordon while rookie point guard Derrick Rose added 23 points and blossoming forward Tyrus Thomas added 22 points.

Here is a look at the key NBA betting trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks:

The Over is 4-0 in Bulls last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

The Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Chicago.

NBA Odds

Miami Heat +3 -110

Chicago Bulls -3 -110

Over 217½ -110

Under 217½ -110

Analysis: After falling to the Heat just one day after this past Christmas, I think the Bulls will be pretty fired up for this rematch against the Heat.

With the Heat mired in a nasty funk – and the Bulls starting to improve – I like Chicago to win this contest and cover the spread with a bit of room to spare.

Take the Bulls to cover the spread narrowly BetOnline NBA sports betting backers.

NBA Free Picks: Chicago -3 points/Under 217½ Total Points
