This is a big, big game for the Black Knights, who sit at 3-2 after blowing a golden opportunity last week against the Temple Owls at West Point.

Trent Steelman had his best game of the season, accounting for five TDs on the day. He rushed for 65 yards and threw for another 124 and didn’t turn the ball over. The real problem was the defense, particularly on the ground. After knocking Chester Stewart out of the game, his backup, Matt Brown absolutely ran wild, rumbling for 226 yards and four TDs.

Needless to say, blowing a 28-13 lead halfway through the third quarter didn’t sit well for Army, which badly needs to recover before its schedule gets significantly harder.

The Green Wave really thought to have no chance last week in sports betting action against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on the road.

Even though they were 17 point favorites and were down 7-0 just 29 seconds into the game, the Green Wave just would not be denied. The offense only mustered 245 total yards, but after the first play from scrimmage, a 91 yard TD run by Mohamed Sanu, Tulane only allowed 262 total yards on the day.

It was a particularly ugly game where very little went right, but Ryan Griffin took care of the football and went a relatively efficient 17-of-28 on the day for 140 yards.

In the end, a 17-14 upset proved to be one of the more remarkable results for the Green Wave in a number of seasons, as it feels like it has been forever since they have beaten an FBS team.

Even a bowl game doesn’t look totally out of the question for Tulane either, but this is a must win sports betting battle to do so.

One of those losses was a 44-13 whitewashing suffered at the hands of these Black Knights back in ’08. Even though Tulane is riding high after the win in Piscataway last weekend, the Green Wave just isn’t that good. Army, on the other hand, has been stellar at times, and it knows if it wants to go bowling, this is a game it cannot let slip away.
