The sweater vest has held the upper hand in the most recent series taking each of the L/3 meetings both SU and ATS against Bielema’s Badgers. That includes last year’s meeting in the Horseshoe in a game Wisconsin dominated statistically, but ultimately bowed out due to costly offensive turnovers and poor special teams play.

OSU improved to 3-0 both SU & ATS in the Big Ten in last year’s meeting with their 31-13 home win and cover as lofty 16 point home favorites.

Wisconsin actually dominated the stat sheet outgaining the Buckeyes 368-184 and held a commanding 25+ minute advantage in the time of possession battle, but quarterback Scott Tolzien was pick-sixed twice and Ray Small returned a kickoff 96 yards to pay dirt to help allow the Buckeyes overcome the stat sheet and pull out the college football pick victory.

The Buckeyes enter this Week 7 tilt a perfect 6-0 and moneymaking 5-1 ATS on the year most recently disposing of the Indiana Hoosiers 38-10 at home as 25-point chalk.

Wisconsin improved to 5-1 SU last week with a non covering 41-23 home win against the Minnesota Golden Gophers; the Badgers have been dreadful to their football betting supports this season amassing a bankroll debilitating 1-5 ATS mark.

Oddsmakers have really made it hard on them however, as they’ve been a double-digit favorite in all but one game this season. Along with that, the team has suffered a multitude of injuries with the biggest coming on the defensive side of the ball to sophomore linebacker Chris Borland who is out for the remainder of the year after reinjuring his surgically repaired shoulder.

A much lesser version of this Badgers outfit suffered a heartbreaking last minute home defeat at the hands of the Buckeyes back in 2008. A number of players on that team were freshman then, but are all “growns up” now and would love nothing better than to knock the Buckeyes off their freshly taken position atop the college football pick totem pole.

NCAA Football Insider Tip: last year’s sickening defeat in this match-up still pains me to this day. The Badgers played their hearts out that game, yet still just didn’t have the experience or ability to get passed the surging Buckeyes.

That’s all changed in 2010 as Wisconsin has plenty of speed and athletic ability to not only cover as four-point home underdogs, but win outright.

While OSU comes in as the #1 team in the land, it doesn’t look to be as formidable as in years past. They had tons of trouble handling what looks to be an up and coming Illinois team in their first road test of the year in front of just 62,000+.

Now they have to deal with a Camp Randall crowd of 80,000+ and a Badgers club looking to land a crushing blow after absorbing three in a row themselves since last defeating the Buckeyes back in 2004.

The Badgers have cashed nine of the L/14 times it went off the board as a college football pick underdog (9-4-1 ATS), and they look ripe as ever to improve upon that mark tonight in front of their frenzied home crowd!

My NCAA Football Predictions: Wisconsin Badgers (+4) -110
