Make a Super Bowl Bet on QB Even/Odd Yardage Prop for Super Bowl 45
January 27, 2011
Super Bowl betting handicappers should make a wager on even/odd yardage prop bets for Super Bowl XLV. The game, kicking off on Feb. 6th, pits two of the most highly respected players in the entire NFL in the QB position against each other.
The Pittsburgh Steelers tackle the Green Bay Packers and both teams bring an excellent quarterback to the field. For Green Bay, QB Aaron Rodgers has been dynamite all season long. For Pittsburgh, QB Ben Roethlisberger has been spectacular since riding out a 4 game suspension to start the season.

I like to call this prop the baccarat Superbowl odds prop. Why? I call it that because the bet is just like baccarat. In baccarat, gamblers write down every single number that comes up on the board in hopes that a “pattern” will emerge. Of course, there’s no real pattern. I mean, how can there be a pattern when we’re talking about something like random numbers showing up on a board or odd or even number ending yardage in a football game. I mean, really? But, because stats are all important in any type of gambling, it makes sense to look at a few. First, Aaron Rodgers’s total number of passing yard games that ended in even and odd this season counting the playoffs.
QB Aaron Rodgers Even – 10, Odd – 7
Now, Big Ben:
QB Ben Roethlisberger Even – 7, Odd – 7
Weird, right? And…meaningless, but that doesn’t mean that football handicappers shouldn’t wager on this prop. They should. Want to know why? Pigskin handicappers should bet on this prop because of the odds. There’s roughly a 50% chance of Rodgers and Roethlisberger ending with passing yards at either an odd or even number.
The juice is down from -10 to -5 for this prop. That’s like betting on red or black on the roulette wheel. Think of the greens on the roulette wheel as the juice when betting this prop. So, if you’re having an “odd” day on Feb. 6th, then bet odd on both guys, if you’re having an “even” day on Feb. 6th, then bet even on both guys.
Or, bet odd on one dude and even on the other, but, put something on the prop. After all, it’s rare to be able to have a 50% chance at something in the sportsbook and only have to lay -5 juice instead of -10.
Super Bowl 45 is around the corner!
