Live NFL Odds – San Francisco at San Diego

Two talented yet disappointing teams will lock horns in a Thursday night special as the 49ers will face the Chargers in a live NFL betting odds matchup.

The Chargers are a big favorite heading into this one but some feel as if San Francisco still has a lot to prove on the season.

San Francisco 49ers at San Diego Chargers

Betting Line: San Diego favored at -9 ½.

For the Chargers to win this one in blowout fashion by NFL standards and cover the live NFL odds betting line of more than 9 points, they will have to run the ball as they did last week.

Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles combined to help the run game rack up 184 yards.

With both teams one game out of first place, this one will be intense and played hard by both teams.

Whether or not they play well is anyone’s guess but the Chargers have an inside track as they are 7-6 on the year and play well at home compared with the 49ers who are still just 5-8 and really have no business in a playoff race.

The live NFL odds favorite Chargers are 5-2 at home both straight up and against the spread which gives them the edge in the betting trends.

Thursday night home favorites are 3-1-1 ATS this year as well; another betting trend that favors the Chargers.

Antonio Gates is doubtful for the game but Randy McMichael is a very capable fill-in and Philip Rivers hasn’t had any problems racking up huge yards through the air as well despite injuries.

While San Francisco is coming off of a big performance last week against Seattle, the Chargers are a different animal and Alex Smith will likely coming back to Earth in this one considering the history of his disappointing career.
