Analysis: This pick is fairly easy even thought the lines on this college football matchup may appear to be a bit on the high side.
Texas Christian is averaging a whopping 45.7 points per game while shutting down their opponents by allowing just 12.7 points per game defensively.
While the SMU Mustangs are putting up a fine, 30.0 points per contest of their own, they are also allowing 21.0 points per contest defensively and just don’t have the talent level of their nationally-ranked opponents in this matchup.
The Horned Frogs have won 17 consecutive regular season games and are a legitimate BCS title contender this season eve if they don’t get quite the publicity of some of the other national college football powerhouse programs.
TCU has won three straight over SMU, including a 39-14 win last season but failed to cover the lines on that college football game as a whopping 28-point home favorite.
The Horned Frogs have one of the best defenses in the country as they are ranked fourth in yards allowed (222.7 ypg) and ninth in points allowed (12.7 ppg) while also being an absolute juggernaut offensively by ranking ninth in rushing (279.7 ypg) and sixth in scoring (45.7 ppg).
Add it all up and it should play out as a solid TCU cover against the lines on this college football matchup.
Lines on College Football Pick: Texas Christian -17½ Points/Over 54½ Total Points
