Light Of A Star Shoots For 4th Straight Win at Fairplex
September 16, 2010
Light Of A Star will be looking for her fourth straight victory at what figure to be low horse racing odds on Thursday. What’s crazy is that she’ll be running for her fourth different trainer in her last 4 races.
Light Of A Star has put money into the pockets of trainers Michael Mollica, Charles Treece and Jeff Mullins in her last 3 races. Now, she’s running for trainer Gary Stute, who doesn’t put her up to be claimed, in race 10 at Fairplex.

Her horse racing odds figure to be fair to low considering that she’s taking a big step up in class. Light Of A Star also might be a play against on Thursday because of the class hike and the presence of other sharp speed.

pp.7 – U Turn Me Crazy – - 7/2 fair betting odds
This competitive affair should go to the classiest horse. To me, there’s no doubt that the horse is U Turn Me Crazy. Going second time for Peter Miller always doesn’t produce results, Miller’s only 3% second time off the claim, but U Turn Me Crazy takes a drop to this optional claiming $40,000 level after running against much, much better on the turf at Del Mar at the $50,000 claiming level. U Turn Me Crazy has 2 victories and one second place finish out of 5 races lifetime and should be able to stick close to likely front-runners Sugar Spike and Light Of A Star before making a move at the top of the stretch. This is a better spot for the daughter of Atticus then the race at Del Mar was. She should win on Thursday at what could be fair to good horse racing odds.
pp.5 – Sugar Spike – - 7/2 fair betting odds
Trainer Juan Carlos Lopez isn’t putting Sugar Spike up to be claimed on Thursday. He must really feel that he’s got a winner on his hands. If that’s the case, then horseplayers had better pay attention to this gal because her running line, 2 victories, 1 second and 1 third place finish out of 7 lifetime races, is very impressive. Sugar Spike might not be as fast as Light Of A Star out of the gate but she’s definitely classier than that one and should be taken seriously as a major player in the 10th at Fairplex on Thursday.
pp.1 – Light Of A Star – - 4/1 fair betting odds
I’d love to see this hard-knocking daughter of Muqtarib win her 4th straight. She’s an absolute machine having finished out of the Top 3 only 3 times in 22 races. She’s won 12 out of 22 and tries as hard as any horse I may have ever seen in my life. With that being written, she is taking a huge step up in class in this and she does face serious pressure up front in the form of Sugar Spike. The 4/1 horse racing odds are probably no better than a dream.
Horse Wagering Strategy
I’m going to bet on U Turn Me Crazy to win and place. I will key U Turn Me Crazy in an exacta over Light Of A Star and Sugar Spike.
I will reverse the exacta for less.
Good luck!
