Jen’s New Chapter – - 4/1 morning line

The last time this daughter of Orientate stepped onto the racetrack it was on the turf and happened to be the worst race of her life. She lost by over 17 lengths in that, but now finds herself back onto the cushion, where she has been successful before with 2 victories and a second out of four races, and at a much more suitable distance. Jen’s New Chapter can lie off of the speed before making a nice run or just take the lead from the outstretch. She bounces back off the turf debacle to be in position for a win in this.

Pindaric – - 5/1 morning line

What’s not to like about this 7 year old mare that has won her last two races? She won both by closing off of the speed. A third straight victory could definitely be in the cards as she’s in fantastic form, keeps jockey Joe Talamo, and should be ready to fire at this 7 ½ furlong distance. If things go her way, she should be in the garden spot shortly after they break from the gate.

Cato Major – - 5/2 morning line

She’s had success on the cushion track before and like Pindaric is in very good form. She won her first race off of a layoff at this level and now returns with every right to actually improve. Jockey Joel Rosario will make sure she doesn’t have too much to do at the top of the stretch. The likely chalk has a good shot in this.

Wagering Strategy

Jen’s New Chapter figures to be a good bet to win and place. I will also put Jen’s New Chapter, Cato Major and Pindaric into an exacta and trifecta box.
