Kentucky vs. Florida Sports Betting Pick
September 25, 2010
Two of the SEC East’s most wide-open offenses will clash on Saturday in what could be one of the more intriguing sports betting matchups of the weekend.
The Wildcats and Gators both know how to light up the scoreboard and Florida is experiencing some issues on offense compared to past years.
Can the Wildcats outscore the Gators en route to a big upset?

The Gators have had top five recruiting classes just about every year Urban Meyer has been on campus and much of that young talent has had a chance to get seasoned a bit more in the first few weeks despite the lack of blowouts compared to past years for Florida.
While they’ve won comfortably in many games they haven’t shown that precision and level of dominance that Urban Meyer teams are used to showing. Much of that has to do with quarterback John Brantley but he has shown promise and flashes of being the next great quarterback in the system. He is even listed as a top five quarterback prospect in his class by some NFL Draft sites which is interesting for a spread-option quarterback.
The sports betting line on this one seems a bit high but it’s at The Swamp at night which has a dramatic effect on many teams. The Kentucky quarterback Mike Hartline has been better than Brantley on the year however as the Wildcats have helped him out on offense and he has compiled a 72 percent completion percentage.
Hartline and the Wildcats scored 23 points in the win over Louisville by 7 points and have gone on to blow the doors off of their other non-conference competition, which wasn’t very strong. Averaging 44 points coming in is a bit misleading but they still have what it takes to keep this one close against their SEC rivals on the road.
Kentucky and Florida have the type of offenses that could make this one a back-and-forth shootout which means that the Wildcats are a good bet to cover and come within two scores.
Sports Betting Pick: Kentucky Wildcats (-14).
