Kansas State Likely Road Dog in Online Sports Book vs. Nebraska
February 23, 2011
The Kansas State Wildcats are likely road dogs in the online sports book on February 23rd when they take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln.
K-State has been very good lately with 4 straight up victories out of their last 5 games. They upset the Kansas Jayhawks, 84 to 68, on Feb. 14th, and because of that there is a slight chance that the Wildcats could go off as the chalk in this. Then again, Nebraska goes into this off of a shocking 70 to 67 victory over Texas.

Check out some trends for this game.
- The Kansas State Wildcats are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS victory.
- The Kansas State Wildcats are 1 and 7 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up win.
- The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 4 and 1 ATS in their last 5 games at home.
- The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 7 and 2 ATS in their last 9 games versus a team with a winning straight up record.
Kansas State is a horrible 1 and 7 against the spread in the online sports book this season in their away games. How horrific is that? The Wildcats have played well below expectations this season, but, surprisingly, could still garner a decent berth in the March Madness Tournament come next month because they’ve been very good lately.
K-State beat Kansas by 16 points 2 games ago. Hoops handicappers have to give them props for that. In fact, handicappers should give the Wildcats more props for beating Kansas 84 to 68 than they do to Nebraska for beating Texas 70 to 67. The difference between the two games is that Texas made a furious rally to almost get on even terms with the Cornhuskers in the second half.
What did K-State do to Rock Chalk? They continued to put the beat down on them without mercy in the second half. Kansas State increased their lead over the Jayhawks in their upset victory. I have to think that Kansas State is the team to back to cover the online sports book versus the Cornhuskers.
It’s likely that the Wildcats might end up as a -2 ½ or even -3 to -3 ½ point favorite in this game because they took apart Nebraska 69 to 53 as -7 ½ point favorites the first time that these two teams met on Feb. 2nd.
Even if that’s the case, I’m still going with the Wildcats. My feeling is that Kansas State has turned things around. They have won 4 out of their last 5 games straight up and guard Jacob Pullen, their best player, has scored 27 points or more in the Wildcats last 2 games. Pullen put up 38 against Rock Chalk and then he put up 27 against the Oklahoma Sooners in K-State’s 77 to 62 victory.
I expect Pullen to continue to go mad on the court. I see the Wildcats pulling away from Nebraska in the second half of this game and winning their third game in a row straight up and covering a low betting spread on Wednesday night.
I’m backing the Kansas State Wildcats against the spread versus the Nebraska Cornhuskers on February 23rd.
