Houston vs Tennessee – Football Betting
December 17, 2010
The Houston Texans took a gut-punch loss Monday night, as they mounted a 21-point comeback to force the Baltimore Ravens into overtime before Matt Schaub threw a pick to lose the game. The Titans mounted a comeback from 21 points of their own last week, like the Texans, and they lost in the end. Unlike the Texans, they were able to cover the football betting spread.
The odds makers have set the football betting odds favoring the Titans by 1½ points on the spread and have set the game total at 47 points. Check the football betting tab for the latest moneyline odds.

The meeting between the two AFC South rivals is a battle to avoid the basement. Both teams were expected to challenges the Colts supremacy in the division this year but the same problems kept popping up for the Texans and Titans.
The Titans couldn’t keep a quarterback under center, Vince Young was benched several times before suffering a season ending injury. Kerry Collins was inconsistent and dealt with injuries of his own. The low point came for the Titans when they went with Rusty Smith for a game and a half. Smith threw for 200 yards in six quarters, no touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Titans acquired Randy Moss in hopes of alleviating some of the pressures on the QB but in 5 games with the Titans Moss has totaled five receptions for 62 yards and no touchdowns. How the mighty have fallen.
Chris Johnson had his best game of the season against the Colts but he hasn’t been a factor in most of the Titans games.
The Texans went into their week 7 bye with a 4-2 record. The playoffs were a legitimate possibility for the first time in franchise history. After the bye, the wheels fell off the Texans train.
The Texans are 1-6 in their last seven games having covered just two football spreads in those games.
The offense, led by Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson and Arian Foster is scoring a ninth best 24.3 points per game. Schaub is on pace for over 4000 yards, Johnson could top 1400 yards and Foster has combined for 1834 rushing and receiving yards and 15 touchdowns this season.
Clearly offense isn’t a problem, it’s their Swiss cheese defense that’s allowing a third worst 27.3 points per game. Their pass defense ranks dead last in the league.
Kerry Collins is still capable of a big game and with Kenny Britt back it gives him an extra target but after the Texans heartbreaking loss to the Ravens Monday night, I think Gary Kubiak’s boys will light up the scoreboard. Take the Texans +1½
NFL Betting Pick: Houston Texans +1½
