The Colts are struggling this year, sure, they still have a 4-2 record but this year they don’t have the same aura of invincibility that they carried through to the Super Bowl last season.
Free Betting Tips – The Colts are 8-2 ATS in their past 10 games as a favorite of 3½-10 points.
The team is decimated by injuries with the most recent losses in personal are Pro-Bowler Dallas Clark and second year wide receiver Austin Collie. Clark is gone for the season with what doctors describe as a rare wrist injury and Collie is out with a thumb injury. Collie has played hurt most of the season but Monday will be the first game he’s missed.
Replacing the duo will be WR Blair White and TE Jacob Tamme. White played his first game against Denver and caught a TD pass from Manning, so while he’s a replacement, he’s been here before. Tamme has just six career receptions and doesn’t have one this season.
Free Betting Tips – The Texans are 9-2 ATS in their past 11 games as an underdog.
Compounding the problem will be the injuries to running backs Donald Brown and Joseph Addai. The duo could both be out of action Monday night with injuries.
Still with Peyton Manning under center, the Colts make stars of unknowns.
The Houston Texans have some problems of their own. The Texans have the worst defense in the league in terms of yards allowed. They are giving up 410.5 yards per game, including 306.2 yards passing a game.
Free Betting Tips – The Colts have gone over in four of their past five games against the AFC South.
Their defense took a hit in their last game as star middle linebacker DeMarco Ryans went down with an Achilles tendon injury.
Offensively, the Texans are rolling up 379.7 yards a game. Matt Schaub is well off his torrent pace of 2009 but he hasn’t needed to be as great. Helping the Texans out is their greatly improved running game. RB Arian Foster is averaging 105.8 yards a game with six touchdowns. The offense ranks fifth in the league in rushing yards.
Free Betting Tips – Over is 10-1 in the past 11 meetings between the Colts and Texans.
The Texans defense isn’t good and the Colts have gaping holes in their own. Both teams can put up huge numbers on the scoreboard, despite the total being relatively high at 51; these teams should go over the betting total.
NFL Betting Pick: Colts/Texans Over 51 points
