Houston Cougars Top Initial “Over” College Football Betting Power Poll

September 16, 2010

Here at BetOnline Sportsbook, we’ve always got our eyes on any NCAA football trends that we can use to help make you money. Houston is our top college football betting team for ‘overs’ so far this year.

1: Houston Cougars (2-0) – Is this really a surprise to anyone? The Cougs have averaged 61.0 points per game, tops in the country. Unfortunately, they’re potent attack took a blow when Case Keenum was knocked out in the second half of last week’s home game vs. UTEP; he’s listed as doubtful for UCLA.

2: Oregon Ducks (2-0) - Bottom line: No one is stopping the Quack Attack right now! Imagine how powerful this team would look with Jeremiah Masoli calling the shots! Still, Chip Kelly is an early candidate for Coach of the Year.

3: California Golden Bears (2-0) – The Bears have essentially done enough all by themselves to be able to take down two ‘overs’ this season. They’ll probably need to do that again to keep up with Nevada’s offense this week.

4: East Carolina Pirates (2-0) - Finding offensive production certainly has been no problem for the Pirates this year. Dominique Davis is proving to be the real deal. If he does similar work in Blacksburg this week, the Hokies are going to be crying after another college football betting defeat.

5: Ohio State Buckeyes (2-0) – Give Terrelle Pryor and the Bucks’ offense a lot of credit. Considering the defense has only allowed one TD this year, the fact that there have still been two ‘overs’ is a testament to both how good this offense can be and how bad these special teams really have been.

6: Texas A&M Aggies (2-0) – Jerrod Johnson has already accounted for 683 yards and seven TDs in just two games this season. Anyone think that Florida International is stopping him from going nuts again this week?

7: New Mexico Lobos (2-0) – Sometimes, you have to look outside the box. It isn’t always the best offensive teams that can score ‘overs’. New Mexico has only scored 17 points this year, but has allowed 124…

8: Memphis Tigers (2-0) – This is really the same deal with the Tigers, who don’t seem to be able to stop anyone. MTSU could run wild in Saturday’s college football betting duel.

9: Arkansas State Red Wolves (2-0) – Give the Red Wolves some credit for finding the scoreboard against both ULL and Auburn this year. Don’t give them so much credit for allowing 83 points in those two games, though.

10: Troy Trojans (2-0) – You’d figure that the oddsmakers would have learned with this team last year… Troy still has no defense and a solid offense even though Levi Brown is now playing in the NFL. The Trojans are averaging 34.0 points per game and conceding 34.0 points per game.
