He’s easily the class of this field and his trainer, Jamie Ness, is winning at a 31% clip at the meet. There’s no knocks against the gelding in this $8,000 n3L claimer. But the odds are going to be extremely low. So, maybe it’s a good idea to skip betting this fella to win or place altogether.

Gaskin Lad – - 7/2 online betting odds

He ran very well in his last at this level losing by only 1 ½ lengths. His ability to lead or stalk cannot be questioned but he gets a terrible draw and will have to run around some horses before getting to Silver Label. Then again, there’s no telling what Silver Label will do in this race, that’s why he’s 20 to 1 on the morning line, while every horse betting fan who wants to bet this race knows that Gaskin Lad will make a run with Rosemary Homeister on his back.

Wagering Strategy

Silver Label is worth a small online wager to win, place and show. But when it comes to the exacta and trifecta, I prefer to use Gaskin Lad as the key horse over Circumvent and Silver Label. I will use Silver Label as a key horse in a much smaller amount over Gaskin Lad and Circumvent in the exacta and trifecta.
