Santa Anita has been a very good track so far for sports betting fans to find horse bet overlays.

The Pro-Ride surface at Santa Anita has allowed more than one trainer to put his horses into races.  Everyday when Santa Anita runs their races most online racebook fans should be able to find one or two overlaid horses in almost every race. 

This is true for the turf as well where Friday’s Horse Pick of the Day is entered.

Any time trainer Jerry Hollendorfer sends a horse down south to run at Santa Anita or Hollywood park, online racebook fans had better take notice.  Hollendorfer does very well with his stock in SoCal.  Not only that, but Lockford gets Rafael Bejarano who might be the second best jockey in the United States after Garrett Gomez.  To complete the package, Lockford has better speed ratings then most of the others in here and is coming off of a victory.  If the online odds stick, he’s probably the best play.

Isipingo – - 6/1 online betting odds

Even though Isipingo breaks from the 10 hole, I still believe he’s got a chance because he’s returning to turf after running mainly on artificial surfaces.  This fella has some serious back class and trainer Craig Dollase usually doesn’t go goose egg for very long.  SoCal legendary jockey Alex Solis takes the call and Isipingo is taking a slight drop in class to boot.  He’s got a huge shot.

Mr. universe – - 8/1 online betting odds

It’s only a matter of time before super turf trainer Paulo Lobo gets this Grade I winner from Brazil a victory in the states.  Mr. universe ran very well in his first race in the states to finish fourth.  Then, in his second race he didn’t exactly take to the cushion track at Hollywood Park but that’s okay.  He returns to the turf in this.  At 8 to 1, he is yet another horse with a giant chance.

Wagering Strategy

Whichever horse goes off at the higher odds, Mr. universe, Isipingo or Lockford, will get my online betting dollars to win and place.  I will use all three in an exacta and trifecta box.
