BetUS NBA Betting Odds: LAKERS -4, Total 209

Here are some of the NBA pro basketball sports betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* LA has won nine of its last 11 games SU

* LA has covered five of its last eight games

* LA has played six of its last eight games OVER the total

* LA has won eight of its last 12 road games SU

* LA has covered one of its last six road games

* LA has played seven of its last nine road games UNDER the total

* UTAH has lost nine of its last 12 games SU

* UTAH has covered four of its last 15 games

* UTAH has played seven of its last 10 games OVER the total

* UTAH has won 17 of its last 19 home games SU

* UTAH has covered two of its last six home games

Also…

* LA has won six of the last eight meetings SU

* Eight of the last nine meetings have gone OVER the total

* UTAH has won 10 of the last 14 meetings SU as the home team

* LA has had the shooting edge in six of the last eight meetings

* LA has made more three-pointers in seven of the last nine meetings

The Jazz played some defense in Game 3, forcing the Lakers into 37% shooting and limiting Kobe Bryant to just 18 points in the 88-86 victory. Bryant had a horrible night, hitting just five of 24 shots, and Carlos Boozer once again had a strong game for Utah, scoring 23 points and pulling down 22 rebounds.

Boozer is definitely back, and that is going to give Utah an edge in the inside game, especially as Paul Millsap, who shared plenty of time with him, had 14 rebounds of his own. This is good news for the Utah faithful, and the Jazz did an admirable job of holding serve at the Energy Solutions Arena, where they have now won 17 of the last 19 games.

Utah has already registered 43 offensive rebounds, and that figure might get even better (on a per game basis) if Andrew Bynum doesn’t wake up. Bynum played only seven minutes in Game 3, and picked up five personal fouls during that time. Now the word is that Mehmet Okur, the inside-outside center for Utah, who missed the first two games of the series, may be available for Game 4. If the hamstring injury has indeed improved enough, that will also be a nice psychological boost for this Utah team that really has to win this game.

Nobody’s going to be looking for Kobe to have an off-night like that again, but the "beef" quotient is certainly in Utah’s favor, and the stars may be aligned for another optimum performance. When a team has won 17 of 19 at home, and they’re getting points, you have to take a long look. We’ll grab the points with Utah, the four-point underdog in the BetUS NBA pro basketball playoff betting odds.

JAY’S PLAY: UTAH +4 **

(Graded on a scale of 1-4 stars)
