This race appears to have come up short on true, front-running speed. Holy Blitzer is the only real confirmed speedster in the bunch. Although Repreive looks like a speed horse, she often times prefers to lope along behind a slow pace instead of mixing it up when the pace is fast. Holy Blitzer figures to either track Hello Gold, who does have some early hoof, or take the lead out of the gate. The drop in class should help, as will the fact that jockey Ramon Dominguez takes over. Ramon was aboard Holy Blitzer in that $16,000 claiming score. Trainer Linda Rice is winning at a good percentage at this meet. This daughter of Holy Bull appears primed for a top effort.

6 – Can She Dance – - 4/1 morning line odds

If the pace is quick, then Can She Dance is the most likely horse to provide great horse race betting profits in Belmont’s 7 th on Sept. 23 rd. Can She Dance has won only 2 out of 18 lifetime races but both victories occurred over the Belmont Park turf and 1 of the victories occurred at this mile distance. Jockey Julien Leparoux is a master with turf closers and Can She Dance drops into this out of a state-bred allowance race.

7 – Reprieve – - 3/1 morning line odds

If you don’t use pace numbers, you might not know that Reprieve isn’t a true front-runner/presser. The horse appears to like to lay only 1 to 2 lengths off of the speed but in reality Reprieve will lay 1 to 2 lengths off only if the pace is slow. Holy Blitzer figures to really try for some separation in this race if Hello Gold doesn’t go to the front meaning that Reprieve could be around 5 to 8 lengths behind the pace. She’s good enough to win no matter where she makes her run from, but the horse race betting odds are going to be very low on this gal by the time the gates open.

I believe Holy Blitzer will keep her morning line odds in this. Since she might be the lone speed in this field, I’m willing to bet on her to win, place and show at odds of 8/1 or higher and to win and place at odds of 7/1 or lower.

I will also key Holy Blitzer in an exacta with Reprieve, 10-Kaleigh Rose and Can She Dance. I will reverse the exacta for less.
