Grizzlies need Extra Mayo – Memphis at Cleveland
February 24, 2009
The Memphis Grizzlies (15-40 SU, 21-33-1 ATS, 28-27 O/U) have arguably the league’s most impressive rookie this season in explosive shooting guard O.J. Mayo, but have dropped four straight games in the BetOnline Sportsbook.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (43-11 SU, 36-18 ATS, 24-30 O/U) have the best all-around player on the planet in superstar small forward LeBron James and come into tonight’s contest riding an impressive four-game winning streak in the BetOnline Sportsbook.
The Grizzlies were handed a convincing115-106 loss by the Sacramento Kings on Friday, failing to cover the spread as 7-point favorites at home while the game’s 221 combined points played OVER the posted O/U total of 208 points.
Mayo scored a team-high 24 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists in a losing effort.
The Cavaliers spanked the struggling Detroit Pistons 99-78 as a 9-point home favorite on Sunday while the combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (180.5).
Combo guard Delonte West scored a game-high 25 points in his return from injury for Cleveland while James chipped in with 20 points in the win.

Cleveland Cavaliers -14 -110
Over 190 -110
Under 190 -110
Analysis: The Cavaliers beat the Grizzlies by 15 points the last time they met and won by 20 in the game before that. While I believe that this spread is just a wee bit on the high side, I like the Cavaliers to cover with a huge home win over the overmatched Grizzlies.
I also like the OVER for this contest as these two teams have combined to Over the spread in five straight meetings.
NBA Free Picks: Cavaliers -14 Points/Over 190 Total Points
