Green Bay at Minnesota – NFL Picks for Week 11

November 21, 2010

The Packers and Vikings are the two long-time rulers of the NFC North, but the NFL picks crowd has seen the Vikings go in a different direction this year.

Minnesota has seen in-fighting and a bad year by QB Brett Favre lead to the implosion of a team that was just a few plays away from the Super Bowl last season.
Will the Vikes be able to salvage some pride and any possible playoff hopes with a win on Sunday over Green Bay?

The Pack have the best tackling cornerback in the NFL in former Heisman winner Charles Woodson who can cut off some of the outside running lanes of Adrian Peterson and help prevent big plays.

Woodson along with his solid safeties can provide a line of defense to help prevent Peterson from breaking loose, and Clay Matthews and co. are great pass rushers for GB.

Now, the game might fall on the shoulders of Favre again as the NFL picks crowd has realized that he will need to cut down on his league-leading 16 interceptions in this one to give Minnesota any chance.

The football picks nation also realizes that Favre is healthier now than he has been in weeks if not at any time during the 2010 NFL season.

Percy Harvin made some plays last week and seems okay after migraine issues as well.

Minnesota has too much talent to be languishing near the bottom of the NFC Central, now the main worry is whether or not they’ve packed it in because of Brad Childress at head coach and his failures.

Against a rival, they should give their last best effort of the year.

Green Bay has been on fire lately and their shutout of the Jets on the road shows how good their defense is.

But the Packers are banged up on that side of the ball and the Vikings have Sidney Rice back as well.

Adrian Peterson will likely get a lot of carries in this one to test the health of the Green Bay defense.

The underdog is 17-6 ATS in the last 23 meetings between these two and with the Packers the favorite on the road the Vikings seem like the best bet in this one both ATS and even straight-up.

Minnesota has one last shot to salvage some pride and this will be the game that they go all-out in to make one final stand at home.

NFL picks winner: Minnesota (+3).
