I see a huge opportunity for me to save face and maybe make a killing this week and weekend in the sportsbook!

I’ve said all along that I believe the Boston Celtics will win the NBA Championship.

I’ve said this even though my heart has been with the Kobester and the Lakeshow.

Now, I’m stuck. Don’t worry…I will make a case for why the Boston Celtics will cover the spread in the NBA sportsbook in Game 7 on Thursday, but, for now, I’m looking to make some serious dollars with a parlay bet!

Phil Mickelson -125 vs. Lee Westwood -105

Analysis: Mickelson is the favorite to win the U.S. Open. That’s why he’s the favorite in this matchup, but Westwood has been awesome so far in 2010. Yes, Lefty beat Lee at the Masters Tournament, but besides the Masters, old Mick just hasn’t been as good as one would expect.

Westwood finished 2nd at the Masters (to Phil!) and won the St Jude Classic, the prep for the U.S. Open.

Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA

When: June 17th, 2010 at 9:00 pm EST

Boston Celtics +260 vs. L.A. Lakers -320

Analysis: I’m going to do a real in depth analysis regarding this game in a different article. For now, I want to discuss value. The Celtics are going off at +260 on the moneyline and for some, that doesn’t make any sense. They should be +300 considering that Kendrick Perkins won’t play in Game 7, but the Celtics are a resilient team.

Rasheed Wallace is going to need to be the old ‘Sheed in Game 7, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen are going to have to step it up and a lot of things are going to have to go the Celtics way, but they can do it. I like how Boston has answered the bell every time during these playoffs when they’ve faced adversity.

They lost to Cleveland 124 to 95 and came back and won 97 to 87. They lost to Orlando 113 to 92 and came back and beat Orlando 96 to 84. They lost to L.A. 102 to 89 and came back and beat L.A. 103 to 94.

They keep picking themselves up off of the hardwood and coming back for more! I’m hoping they do it one more time, at great NBA betting value, so that I can cash a big time parlay once Lee puts a beat down on Lefty in the U.S. Open!
